How it works

butohworld is a free agenda of butoh events from all over the world. It is free for everyone and the same for everyone: nobody can pay to appear first. There are three ways to use it, and only the last one needs an account.

You are looking for events

No account, no sign-up.

• Browse the agenda, filter by place, date, type or level, or search. Open the map or the calendar.
• Follow a city, a country, an artist, an organizer or an event: write your email and confirm it with the link we send you. You get at most one email a week with what is new, and one at once if something you follow is cancelled, postponed or moved online. Every email has a link to change or stop it.
• Or subscribe in your calendar (Google, Apple, Outlook): new events appear on their own.

We do not track whether you open our emails or click their links.

You publish an event now and then

No account.

• Fill in the form. If your event already has a web page, paste its link: the form fills itself with what it can find, and you check it and complete it before publishing
• We send you an email. Its link opens your event; press «Publish this event» and it is on the agenda.
• Keep that email: for 90 days, the same link edits the event, cancels one of its dates or deletes it. If you lose it, open your event and ask for a new one.

You publish regularly

Create an account. With it:

• your events go on the agenda as soon as you press Publish, with no email step;
• you keep all of them in one place, and can duplicate an event or cancel a single date;
• you get a public page of your own;
• you can connect your calendar or your website, so your events appear here automatically;
• (coming soon) and we can share your events on butohworld’s Instagram and Facebook .

Events you published before with the same email come with you.

Something wrong?

At the end of every page you can tell us about a typo, a translation or anything that does not work. A person reads every report.
